Program Mission and Overview
GYOTP brings communities and schools together to strengthen the teaching profession through a regional grow-your-own teaching workforce development program for empowerment, equity, and excellence.
This community college-based, guided, pre-baccalaureate teacher preparation program aims to address the shortage of qualified teachers in public education across the Los Angeles region. Through humanistic mentoring and highly supportive services, GYOTP seeks to nurture future teachers reflective of the communities they serve. GYOTP is funded by the US Department of Education Teacher Quality Partnerships Grant 2023-2028.
